Looking for More When it Comes to Your ADHD Clients?

You see her in your practice every week. The client who has carried an anxiety or depression diagnosis for years while the thing underneath was never named. The woman diagnosed with ADHD at 38 who is grieving the years she spent thinking she was just bad at life. The high achiever whose masking is costing her more than anyone can see.

Women with ADHD remain one of the most underidentified populations in mental health practice, and most of us never received formal training on how ADHD actually presents in them. I built this training to change that.

I'm Rhonda Estling, LMFT. I have been a practicing Marriage and Family Therapist for over a decade, I am IFS Level 2 trained, and I coach women with ADHD through The ADHD Dopamine Collective in the Cedar Rapids area. I also came to much of this work through my own late diagnosis. These trainings bring together clinical rigor and lived, practical understanding of this population.

From Professionals who have attended

"This is one of the best trainings I have taken in quite some time! Rhonda is engaging, personable, well versed in the material, and articulate in her delivery. I cannot say enough about what I walked away from this training with even as someone that has works with individuals and couples navigating ADHD for some time. Her ability to pack so much into a 3 hour training that doesn't feel overwhelming or too academic is fantastic. I would gladly attend a full day (or more!) training with Rhonda on the topic of Late Diagnosed ADHD in Women."

Late-Diagnosed ADHD in Women: Clinical Competency for Therapists

Live, interactive webinar | 3.0 NBCC hours | $125 per participant, CE certificate included

ADHD in women remains one of the most underidentified presentations in mental health practice. Women present differently than the male-centered criteria the DSM was originally built on, and many reach adulthood or midlife before receiving an accurate diagnosis. This three-hour live training equips licensed therapists and counselors to identify, assess, and effectively treat ADHD in women, including those presenting without a formal diagnosis. Two interactive case vignettes are woven throughout to support clinical application.

What we cover:

  • Understanding ADHD in women and the diagnostic gap

  • Symptom presentation and masking, and how internalized presentations get read as anxiety or depression

  • Clinical screening and intake considerations, including how to raise ADHD without pathologizing

  • Therapeutic approaches and clinical adaptations for an interest-based nervous system

  • Intersectionality, hormones (including perimenopause and postpartum), and culturally responsive practice

  • Supporting the emotional and identity impacts of late diagnosis

Learning objectives. After completing this program, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe key differences in ADHD symptom presentation in women, including internalizing symptoms and emotional dysregulation.

  2. Identify clinical indicators of undiagnosed or late-diagnosed ADHD in women presenting with co-occurring conditions.

  3. Apply evidence-based therapeutic approaches adapted for the cognitive and emotional needs of women with ADHD.

  4. Demonstrate awareness of the intersectional and sociocultural factors that contribute to disparate rates of ADHD identification and treatment in women.

  5. Formulate a clinical approach to support women navigating the emotional and identity impacts of late ADHD diagnosis.

Who should attend: LMFTs, LMHCs, LCSWs, LPCs, and licensed psychologists. Content is appropriate for graduate-level licensed clinicians.
